Yayyyy! We’re back in Italy! This time, Florence :) We kind of only made a quick pit stop here for lunch (can you guess what? Hint… starts with a P and ends with a ZA!) Predictable much? We actually managed to see quite a few things in such a short time. I loved the canals (homes on the waterfront, there is just something picturesque about it) and I loved all the alleyways with quirky shops and what not. You could wander around the streets for hours on end.

1. Piazzale Michelangelo

The first thing we did was go to Piazzale Michelangelo because:

a. there is parking right there
b. it’s one of the best views of the city

It did not disappoint! There is even a replica Statue of David up there (albeit, a green one); so technically we kind of saw that too!

2. Lunch time!

We found a relatively cheap place on TripAdvisor to go to for lunch. I had the yummiest spicy pizza ever! The crust wasn’t as good as the pizza we had in Vercelli, but it was still flipping amazing. It was also a ridiculously hot day, so we washed down our pizzas with some refreshing beers!

3. Piazza della Signoria

This is the main square in Florence, the town hall is also there, and what do you know, a white Statue of David too! There were some other statues there, pretty graphic ones (like some naked dude, with a severed woman’s head in his hands – ew) From there we walked along the waterfront, checked out an amazing gelato shop and even saw some cool fountains.

I’d definitely want to come back and spend more time in Florence. If you look at all the landmarks on Google there is heaps to see! I think in general, we have loved Italy so far, and would definitely make our way back here in the future!
